Kenya Country Partner and Overall Global Business Lead

Mahasi is a seasoned Management Consultant and Leadership Expert with over 18 years of continuous professional experience cutting across industries, sectors and regions. He has been a lead consultant managing the successful execution of numerous complex management consulting projects across East and Central Africa. He served as a Senior Auditor at Deloitte East Africa, as a senior accountant at Simba Corp prior to joining Central Bank of Kenya as an internal auditor. Mahasi has served as faculty at the Strathmore Business School’s institute of strategy and competitiveness where he lectured graduate students and participated in research and consultancy work.

He has a grounded understanding of leadership, governance and management development, having conducted related programmes extensively across East and Central Africa. He is currently the Kenya country business lead and senior consultant at Horrizon. He holds a PhD in Strategic Management, an MBA in Strategic Management, a BSc. Applied Accounting (FCH) from Oxford Brookes University and a BSc. Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi. He is a qualified public accountant (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda. He is a Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) risk expert and trainer of trainers. He has received diverse training in youth development; business start-up financing and structuring; ideation, design thinking from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and StartingBloc. Mahasi is an avid entrepreneur, business coach and youth mentor.

Dr. Lilian Muriithi-Ollows is an all-round finance professional having worked in banking, academia and consulting in Kenya and Rwanda, combining experience of over 20 years. Lilian is passionate about simplifying finance so that it can be easily understood, appreciated and immediately applied for the success of individuals and organisations. of experience in leading and managing teams to successful outcomes, having served as Director at the African Leadership University School of Business in Rwanda, Dean School of PostGraduate studies at the University of Kigali, and Academic Director School of Management and Commerce of Strathmore University in Nairobi Kenya. As faculty she has taught both undergraduate and graduate students, and participated in research and continuous education programmes at these universities.

She is an expert in curriculum development, programme management and efficient delivery, all with a keen eye for detail. She thrives in fast paced environments and is a lifelong learner, seeking new challenges and opportunities. Lilian trains and coaches individuals, entrepreneurs, and groups from organisations in personal finance, financial management, soft skills, and personal productivity skills. She has previously worked as an associate trainer for organisations including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for their Business Edge programme, Centonomy Limited and the Institute for Small Business Initiatives. As the founder and lead consultant at AndWin Consulting, she is on a mission to enhance lives by imparting knowledge and skills for personal financial management, and eventual welfare. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Finance); Master of Business Administration (Finance); Bachelor of Commerce (Finance); Diploma in Life Coaching.

Dr. RUHWEZA, Martin 🇺🇬

Country Partner and Business Lead Uganda

Martin Ruhweza is a Medical Doctor with Master of Public Health Training from Makerere University and a number of other short courses including research ethics. He is the Country Partner for the Horrizon Uganda Country Program Providing oversight and day to day running. He has a wealth of experience of over 20 years in program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation. He is well familiar with the health sector landscape at and programmatic and service delivery levels. He has served in leadership roles across national and international programs and several health programs including HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health, Water and Sanitation among others.

This has been with Management Sciences for Health, AMREF Health Africa, Joint Clinical Research Centre among others. He has a passion for improving financing of health services and addressing household catastrophic health expenditures. He also serves on a number of Boards including Save for Health Uganda, Uzima Ministries and spends part of his time in helping and inspiring and motivating people with mental health problems and drug addiction.
